Are the AI features free?
The AI Learning Assistant (smart word breakdown, learning diagnosis report, custom word-set generation, AI study chat) requires a CN¥9.9 / month subscription in mainland China. In Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan the price differs from mainland China and follows the App Store price for your region. If you already have a DeepSeek API key, you can paste it under "Me → Settings → AI → Use your own API key" and use every AI feature for free.
All other features (dictionary, roots, 12 practice modes, SM-2 review, learning stats, favorites) are free forever and ad-free.
How do I cancel the subscription?
Cancel under iOS "Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions". After cancelling, you keep access until the end of the current period, and billing stops at expiry.
Where is Restore Purchases?
There is a "Restore Purchases" button at the bottom of "Me → AI Learning Assistant → Subscribe to AI Learning Assistant". After switching devices or reinstalling the App, tap it with the same Apple ID to restore your subscription status.
Does my learning data sync across devices?
Not currently. All learning records, favorites, and custom word sets are stored on your device. Switching devices means starting your learning records over. iCloud sync is planned.
What if I find an error in an entry or example sentence?
Feedback is very welcome. Email or WeChat me the wrong word, what the App currently shows, and what you believe is correct, and it will be fixed in the next version.
Can I recover data after clearing it?
No. "Me → Settings → Data → Clear learning records" permanently deletes all local learning progress, review records, and favorites. Please use it with care.
Do AI calls leak my privacy?
AI calls send only the English word you are looking up or a short learning summary to DeepSeek — never your account, device ID, email, phone number, or other identifying information. You can turn off all network activity under "Settings → Enable AI". See the Privacy Policy for details.
Which iOS versions are supported?
iOS 17 and later. Works on both iPhone and iPad.
